John Wisden in Minor Cricket For the AEE and UAEE in Non-First-Class Matches The statistics set out in this book on a match-by-match basis are for first-class cricket and conform therefore to the other books published in the ‘Famous Cricketers’ series. However, Wisden appeared between 1847 and 1863 for, first, Clarke’s All England Eleven and then for the United All England Eleven in matches mainly against Twenty-Twos. As these matches number almost as many as his first-class appearances and are treated in the cricket annual of the day in as much detail as first-class cricket, a book detailing Wisden’s cricket record would not be complete without a seasonal summary of his performances in these ‘odds’ games.
