ABOUT THE AUTHOR Jerry Lodge , a Surrey C.C.C. member, is an active participant of the Surrey Statistics Group and involved in statistical research of Surrey cricket and cricketers and annually producing figures for the yearbook. In his younger days he played cricket at Club level in the Home Counties as a wicket-keeper when Evans was his role model. He now enjoys an active retirement after a lifetime in insurance working for many years for a leading firm of international insurance brokers where he was a colleague of Peter May.
