Famous Cricketers No 41 - T.G.Evans, C.B.E.

1948 1948 was a poor season for Kent when they finished fifteenth in the Championship, in Brian Valentine’s last season as captain. D.V.P.Wright broke his finger, missing many matches and N.W.Harding tragically died from infantile paralysis after a few days’ illness. The visiting Australians, captained by D.G.Bradman on his last tour of England, were considered to be one of the strongest sides to tour in England. Evans played in all the Test Matches and maintained his high reputation, despite a poor performance at Headingley when Australia scored 404 runs in the second innings to win the match.
