Davidson, Benaud, O’Neill and Harvey reappeared for New South Wales in their vital Shield match against Western Australia. The win by New South Wales gave them the vital points to win the Shield for the seventh successive season; O’Neill (175), Benaud (54 & 12-148) and Davidson (54 & 3-88) all made significant contributions to the win but unfortunately Harvey contributed only 15.
