ABOUT THE AUTHOR Ian Phipps was a fast-bowling all-rounder in Club matches until his playing days were ended at an early age due to the demands of his professional studies. He became a member of Kent CCC in 1975. He has been a member of the ACS since 1981 and has undertaken much research on early Kent cricket and cricketers. For the last three seasons he has provided detailed career statistics for the beneficiaries at Kent for use in promotional brochures. He is an accountant by profession.
