Famous Cricketers No 1 - Jack Hobbs
1928 1928 was an exceptionally good batting season in which five men scored over 3,000 runs. Hobbs, suffering from a strain, mised nine matches in mid-season; if he had kept fit, he might well have beaten Hayward’s record aggregate of 3518, and could even have scored 4,000. As it was, he topped the first-class averages for the third time. His century at Nottingham was his 150th first-class hundred. Own Team O M R W Opp Ct Total Total 654.
