They collapsed completely before Barnes and Wilson in both innings, and the home side, for whom Barnes made top score, had an easy victory by an innings and 136 runs. K e n t II. First Innings. N OR FOLK v. CAMBRIDGESH IRE. ^ A t Lakenham, Norwich, August 5 and 6. The visitors, lacking several of their best, had only ten men at the start, and in the second innings only nine batted, Sadler having been injured. Ten of the Norfolk batsmen made double figures, Stevens and Pedder topping 50. In the second innings of Cambs Michael Falcon bowled with great effect. He took all the last 5 wickets in the course of 8 balls,^and did the hat trick. Norfolk won by an innings and 124 runs. C a m b r i d g e s h i r e . First Innings. W. A. Gray, c J. H. W ilts led on the first innings, and looked like having an easy win when Surrey lost 7 for 75 in their second ; but a good innings by Goatly, whom Sullivan helped in a stand of 76 for the eighth wicket, and the rain, coming on at a time when the home side had just started on the by no means heavy task of getting 112 to get in about two hours, saved Surrey from outright defeat. Mitchell again bowled well for Wilts, who have cancelled all their remaining matches of the season on account of the War. Sand ham was called away to play for Surrey’s first team. S u r r e y II.
