In other words, H. S. Harned (the Ledger makes him “ H.T.” but we know better) scored a century— 107*—playing right through an innings of 240. Frankford totalled only 87, P. H. Clark taking 5 for 25, E. M. Mann 4 for 18. Germantown C (253, eight men making doubles, W . D. Meyers, 46*, and G. R. White, 43, highest) beat Merion C (220—R. L. Melville 91, E. Wood 44) in an exciting Philadelphia Cup game. Merion’s total is stated to have been made in a little more than an hour. Very good going indeed, if correct. “ Bump for Caribbean.” Our friends of the Ledger again. Nothing very dreadful. Germantown British-Americans de clared at 124 for 6 ; Caribbean all out 94— that’s all. G. Macpherson made n o , G. W. Dodwell 64* for Crescent A.C. (230 for 3, dec.) v. Bensonhurst (157 for 7) in the N .Y. and N.J. C.A. Staten Island (191 for 6, dec.—N. Grell 47, E. H. L. Steinthal 46) beat Manor Field (116—L. Camacho 40). New York Veterans scored 300 for 5, dec., v. Germantown Colts on June 25, B. J. Kortlang contributing 116*, and A. G. Hoskings and E. G. Hull 64 each. The Colts only scored 78, F. F. SHANGHAI C.C. v. SHANGHAI RECREATION CLUB. At Shanghai, June 6. Captain Barrett put up a big score in this match, and F. W. Potter did a capital bit of bowling—7-2 overs for 11 runs and 6 wickets. S h a n g h a i C.C. Cowichan, who hold first place in the A Division of the league made up of clubs in and around Victoria (B.C.), beat Incognito on June 13 by only 13 runs— 150 to 137—but ran up 132 for one (Taylor 82*, Murphy 45*) in their second innings. E. G. Tait, E. W. Stagg, R. A. Brand, Dr. H. H. Morris, G. M. Billings, and W. G. Murphy did not bat. Victoria beat Nanaimo by a single run, Horton taking 6 for 19 for the winners. For Albion v. Restorer (in Division B) Trimen took 9 for 17. In Vancouver cricket Burrard (119—\T. G. Bullen 36) beat Coquitlan (70), and Vancouver (203—C. Guild 74*) defeated Public Schools (166—E. L. Molliet 49, R. M. Beatson 40). F. C. Evans, a few seasons ago a very heavy scorer in Canadian cricket, made 101 for London Asylum v. Banks on June 20. 5 4 10 91 In the Lancashire League big scores were few, and the attack was usually well on top. J. Haworth (Church v. Accrington) took 5 for 28 ; Lleweilvn (Accrington v. Church) 5 for 36; Hargreaves 5 for 32 (Enfield v. Nelson); Riley (Haslingden v. Rawtenstall) 5 for 19 ; Norbury (East Lancashire v. Colne) 6 for 32; J. Pollard (Colne v.
