Old Novo- castrians, Wallsend 262 for 7, dec. (R. G. Elliott 76, VV. Elliott 58), v. Benwell, and South Northumberland 224 for 6, dec. (R. B. Stephenson 103), v. Backworth Percy. The old boys’ team and Bemvell went under, but Backworth saved their game, thanks to Jackson (55) and VV. McKay (38). T h e County Club beat Tynemouth (131 to 53), Clifton taking 7 for 20. He dismissed four batsmen in one over. Hickton had 7 for 51 for Tynemouth. St. George’s defeated Rvton (n o to 74), Wingham taking 5 for 40, while for Ryton J. Graham had 5 for 26. Benwell Hill (182 for 8—H. Pylno 48*, E. Nicholls 37*) beat North Durham (112). D. H. C o o m b e r ’ s 93 for Benwell included 19 fours. Spittey 6 for 20 (Craghead v. Burnhope) in the North-VVesHDurham League. Bent, the Consett pro, made a eenturv v. Kimblesworth, and W. Akers scored 93* for South Moor v. Langley Park.
