The 144, i n , and 100 in 190S were made on successive days. — +■— S ome details of the Balham W'anderers’ very successful tour in Kent (June 8-13) are appended. In their first match they scored 153 v. New College, Herne Bay, and dismissed their opponents for 26, no one getting double figures. Following on, New College made 79 for 4. W. A. Hanna scored 75 for the tourists in excellent style ; and S. Hanna (5 for 12) and F. H. C. Woollacott (4 for 12) bowled well. I n their second match they defeated St. Lawrence College (Ramsgate) by 58 runs— 211 to 153. C. W. Langford (76) and T. R. Pinkerton (39) sent up 89 before a wicket fell. F. H. C. Woollacott (7 for 41) did good work with the ball. Shortt (54) was top scorer for the school. T h eir third match (v. Westgate) was drawn, distinctly in their favour. They ran up 322 for 8, S. Hanna playing finely for 100, while T. R. Pinkerton made 67, F. C. Hanna 30*, W. A. Hanna and F. H. C. Woollacott 26 each, and P. K. Woollacott 25, declared, and got out 7 of their opponents for 156 (Grimsdell 64). T he match with St. George’s (Ramsgate) was spoiled by rain, though it had gone far enough to be interesting. The tourists declared at 214 for 5 (T. J. Wheeler 66*, S. Hanna 42, C. W. Langford 32), and St. George’s made 131 for 2 (C. H. Skev 55*). C l i f t o n v i l l e C o l l e g e (Margate) were beaten by 7. runs. Gordon contributed 58 to their total of 123, and E. M. Cheshire (55), S. Hanna (45), and S. Butler (43) did well for the winners. The last match ( v . Thanet) was the only one lost. Thanet made 198 (C. S. Allfrey 54), and Balham Wanderers 151 (S. Hanna 38). I t is not often Lewes Priory go under for a small score, but the Stoics dismissed them for 45, Charles Haywood taking 8 for 28.
