Saltburn, and Tolson had 6 for 26 for Saltburn. Bishop A uckland made 64, Saltburn 48. N o r t o n ’ s 244 (T. R. G ritey 53, G. E. Pinder 46— for once Charles Townsend went cheaply) v. Redcar (105— W . Featherstone 51) was top aggregate of the day. Pinder (9 for 57) bowled in great style for the winners. Guisborough m ade 199 (R. W illiam s 54, A. W illiams and Bulm er 43 each) v. Darlington, but failed to bring off a win, their opponents being 107 for 9 at the close. W est H a r t l e p o o l beat North Orm esby by only 14 runs. R. Robinson played finely for 55 for the losers after they had lost 5 for 21, and made more than half the total. Stockton, for whom C. P. Barrow- cliff took 5 for 32 and N.
