ALEXANDRIA. At Alexandria, March 19. Only one day was given to this match, which had been scheduled to occupy two days, and the game was not taken very seriously—towards the end, at any rate. Mordaunt bowled effectively for Zingari, and Tufton and Crichton-Maitland scored freelv. A le x a n d r ia . First Innings. C airo B o w ler s ’ A n a lysis . SECOND MATCH, v. ALL EGYPT. At Alexandria, March 17 and 18. The home side’s fielding was somewhat faulty, and the tourists scored fast in their first innings, their 395 being made at the rate of about 90 per hour. Lord Bernard Gordon-Lennox was twice missed before making 50, but. showed capital form, especially on the leg side. He and Mordaunt added 144 for the fourth wicket in an hour and a quarter. J. C. MacLaren’s was by far the best innings for Egypt at their first attempt ; in the follow-on he again scored well and quickly, while G. MacLaren made a punishing century, and with C. W. Peel as partner put on runs at a great pace, their stand realising 121. The innings was declared ; but the time left—less than an hour—was insufficient either to dispose of the tourists, or for them to have any chance of making the runs, and the match thus ended tamely in a draw. FOURTH MATCH, v. ALL EGYPT. On the Gezireh Ground, Cairo, March 23 and 24. G. MacLaren won the toss for Egypt, and the visitors, handicapped by the absence of Hesketh-Prichard (laid up with sciatica), had to take the field. J. C. MacLaren and C. W. Peel put on 67 for the second wicket, and Peel and his captain 62 for the third. The first Zingari wicket put up 54 in quick time ; Lloyd and Mulholland added 74 for the fourth, and Lloyd and Tufton over 50 for the fifth. In their second innings All Egypt had three good men out for only 27 ; but the captain and C. W. Peel stopped the rot, and Sprot and E. T. Peel put on 112 for the seventh wicket. The declaration left the tourists 75 minutes in which to get 206 runs. They made 96 in the time, and another draw resulted. A ll E g y pt . First Innings. J. C. MacLaren, b M. C.-Maitland .. .. 43 P.
