Cricket 1913
6 8 4 CRICKET : A WEEKLY RECORD OF THE GAME. October 18 , 1913 . the Mahommedans were justified, as the task set them was really a trifle steep for a B om bay w icket. R azak left at 17; but A li, batting- very cau tiou sly (he was in an hour for 10) and Patel (87 m inutes for 28) added 39; and after four w ickets had fallen for 60 U su f Beg- and Feroze Khan made a capital stand. T h e 60 had taken 95 m inutes to make; but m eanwhile dan ger of defeat had grow n sm all, and these two men put on i n in 88 m inutes. T h e m atch thus ended in a draw , the M ahommedans req u irin g 86 w ith 5 w ickets to fall at the finish. A n yth in g m ight have happened had the gam e been played out; but the H indu declaration,m ade because the three-day lim it was in force, would have rendered its b ein g finished somewhat unfair to them . T h e H indu fielding fell aw ay sadly in the last innin gs. P ai was criticised (w rongly, one considers) for ch a n g in g his bow lin g too frequently. H in d u s . First Innings. Second Innings.
