Last year 55 were registered up to June 1 inclusive (the third day of matches beginning May 30), 40 in June (excluding the ist), 49 in July, 12 in August, 6 in September. In 1911 there were 42 in May, 65 in June, 80 in July, 59 in August, and 11 in September. Of the 223 centuries 23 were made at the Oval, 18 at Southampton, 16 at Leyton, 16 at Lord's, 14 at Trent Bridge, 12 at Worcester, 11 at Cambridge, 11 at Leicester, 10 at Edgbaston, 10 at Hove, 9 at Bristol, 8 at Old Trafford, 7 at Northampton, 6 at Dover, 4 at Bath, 4 at Derby, 4 at Scarborough; 3 each at Bradford, Coalville, Coventry, Eastbourne, Gloucester, and Portsmouth ; 2 each at Bournemouth, Catford, Hastings, Oxford, and Taunton; and 1 each at Ashby-de-laZouch, Blackheath, Blackwell, Canterbury, Cheltenham, Chesterfield, Dudley, Harrowgate, Hinckley, Horsham, Leeds, and Nuneaton. The double century feat was recorded six times—by Charlesworth, Gunn (G.), Hardinge, King, Mead (C.P.), and Quaife. Hardinge scored four centuries in successive innings, and five in four matches. Quaife scored three centuries in successive innings.
