O u r first exp eriences in un d e rtak in g a fo r tn ig h t’s cricket-cum -cam p in g tou r in D o rsetsh ire have been told in a p rev iou s article, and so much en jo ym en t w as d erived from th is novel h o lid a y that we had no hesitation in rep eatin g it th is y ea r. A v o id in g undue repetition , I m ay sa y that w e g o t tog eth er abou t a dozen keen cricketers w ith a taste for cam p in g , and w ith the assistan ce o f the G .W . R . tran sported them to a certain spot in D o rsetsh ire w h ich is a sworn secret. T h e re we set up ou r cam p , and sent ou r defiant ch a llen g e s to the n e ig h b o u rin g v illa g e s. T h is y e a r the task o f m a k in g up the fixtu re list w as easier. W e had a ch ieved som e local fame— or notoriety— and were ab le to select ou r e ig h t fixtures from a la rg e number o f app lican ts, as th ey s a y in the ad vertisem en ts.
