B u t what wou ld the W e a rm o u th su p po rters h ave said if he had de­ clared earlier and C h ester had won ? T h e re are argum en ts on both s id e s ; and it seems to me that the rules o f the L e a gu e are more to be blamed than P a rrin g to n , w h o w as b ound for h is sid e ’s sake not to let them lose when d raw or w in had equal va lu e. T h e w icket w a s slow a fter the rain , and the lig h t v e ry poor. T .
