Manitoba bowlers' analysis is very inaccurate; but Dr. Smith took 6 wickets (for 10, the analysis says, but this seems wrong), Laver 2, Sear and Adams 1 each; for Saskatchewan Gardiner took 2 for 11, Vidal 2 for 26, Elliott 2 for 45. Alberta, the unlucky team of the tournament, went under heavily to Manitoba B. Dickins won the toss, but put Manitoba in. Mac kintosh and Blurton put up 45 before a wicket fell, the latter’s share being 3, and Turner helped Mackintosh to add 46 for the second. Turner and Williams put on 72 for the fifth. The innings was declared, and Alberta never looked like getting on terms, only Barnett doing anything. M a n ito b a B. J. F. Blurton, b Mountifield J.G. Mackintosh, c and b Barnett — . After the matches were over Sir Hugh John Macdonald presented the Dingwall trophy to Felstead, the captain of the Manitoba A team, and congratulated the province on the fact of its being able to turn out two such good sides. He knew that the other provinces had had difficulty in getting their best teams together, but their turns would come when Manitoba had to go West for the tournament. Mr. Felstead expressed his pleasure at captaining such a team of sportsmen and playing against such a bunch of good fellows, and added that Manitoba meant to upset the precedent of the home team always winning and carry off the honours at Regina next year. Eastern Canada v. Australian Team. At Rideau Hall, Otta /a, August 12. The Eastern Canada team were a Montreal-Ottawa combination. They did very well to keep the Australian score down to 209, Goodman and Johnston bowling capably; but they failed completely in batting, though among them were several men who have rendered a good account of themselves against visiting teams before now.
