The bowling analysis in this m atch (see p. 469), unavailable last week, was as foilows :— B e r k s h ir e B o w l e r s ’. A n a l y s is . Warwickshire v. Worcestershire. At Edgbaston, August 4, 5, and 6. The visitors lacked H. K. Foster and G. H. Simpson-Hayward, and had only one amateur playing. On the home, side C. K. Langley reappeared, but Field was an absentee. The Worcester shire innings was a remarkable one. Bowley, batting only i6o minutes without the semblance of a chance, made 177 out of 250, hitting as many as twenty-seven 4’s. Collier (38) stayed 70 minutes with him, and during that time 133 were added for the second wicket. The other nine totalled 30 among them! Frank Foster bow-led well, and also batted in something like his old .form ; it was his best day for quite a considerable time. But the Warwickshire men generally showed to no great advantage. Smith made his runs briskly, but little else was done till Foster and Jeeves put up a useful stand for the eighth wicket. At call of time the home team were 49 behind with one wicket to fall. They finished 43 in arrear next morning. But then came a startling change of affairs. Foster and Jeeves bundled out Worcestershire for 74, and early in the afternoon Warwickshire won by 7 wickets.
