Manor Park Constitutional this week ; and among the clubs met will be Barking, Edmonton, Southend, Leyton, Wickford, Ongar, Epping, Little Heath and Goodmayes, and South West Ham. A very successful whist drive— 240 players— was lately h e ld ; and a series of these drives is arranged for this summer, the first taking place on May 23. The C y p h e r s (Hon. Sec., Mr. F. G. Billett, Edale, Wood- bastwick Road, Sydenham), now in their twenty-second year, have as usual a good card. In May, June, and July they will run three teams, and they have also four evening matches (two evenings each) with Bank clubs— River Plate House and Hong Kong and Shanghai. Allan, who has retired after two years’ excellent service to the club. Mr. W. D. Macbeth (fit and well again, I am glad to hear, after his attack of appendicitis) and Mr. John T. Gordon are again Captain and Vice-Captain respectively. Mr. E. E. lilkington, 7, Balham Park Mansions, Balham Park Road, S.W ., is Hon. Match Sec. Two of last year’s stalwarts may have to be i counted o u t; F. L. Morey will not be playing, and G. M. Lloyd is doubtful, but his comrades hope for the best. There has j been a considerable influx of new members, and prospects I generally are good. The Week is July 21-26, and Spencer will again visit Sussex at Whitsuntide. On two evenings of the week ! (the Wednesday and Saturday) al fresco concerts will be held. New fixtures are with Barnes, Cyphers, and Forest Hill.
