WANGANUI CENTRAL DISTRICT ASSOCIATION (OTAGO) v. SOUTH MELBOURNE. The weather was cold and showery, and in the end the game had to be left drawn. F. Ussher, who has played in Dunedin cricket, was top scorer in each innings of the locals, who fielded so well that Trott told them he should not have allowed more than eleven in the field, instead of fourteen, had he known their form. ASHBURTON COUNTY XV. v. SOUTH MEL BOURNE. The locals (who fielded only eleven men) also scored well, Bannehr, a careful batsman, topping the list with 60 in the first innings, and Fryer (48* and 33), a hard hitter, making i the highest aggregate for his side in the match.
