The first X I. won twice as many matches as they lost; the second had a balance on the right side. E. Hawkes, C. I. S. W allace, and E . F. U pton were the chief run-getters for the first team, contributing am ong them nearly half the runs scored for the side; Upton also shared with H all the brunt of the bowling, though here H . Jenner was very effective in the few matches in which he played. For the second X I. W . W ilson scored heavily and con sistently, and F. Cash, A . C. Bastin, and J. B. Ryder did good w ork; the tail was rather a lqng one. Ryder bowled effectively, and Bastin and S. Hayward gave him support. The club has not a very large m em bership; but nearly all its “ playing m em bers” play, which is not the case with every club.
