(All Publications intended for review in “ Cricket ” must be addressed to the Editor .) The eighteenth issue of the “ Barbados Cricketers’ A nnual” ' is to hand, and is fully as interesting and informative as its predecessors. The only faults to be found with it are in the matters of paper and print. It is so good that all into whose hands it comes will want to keep i t ; and it deserves better paper and type. Cricket in the island is dealt with very fuUy and capably ; the score of every m atch of any importance is given, and full averages, personnel of the teams, &c ., are appended. Scoring ruled higher than ever in Barbados in 1911-12. Here are some of the best figures for senior matches :—K. E . Batson, 8 innings—1 not out— 744 runs— average 106-28; P. H . Tarilton, 13-3-775-77-50; G. Challenor, 12-2-621-62 1 0 ; C. A. Browne, 14-4-492-49-20 ; J. M. Kidney, 7 2-235-47-00; C. L . Abram s, 7-2-233-46 6 0 ; P. A . Goodman, 5-0-232-46-40; W . Gibbs, 15-1-596-42-57; F. L. Archer, 11-3-295- 36-87; K. Mason, 8-2-217-36-16 ; B . Challenor, 6-2-126-31 5 0 ; and B. M. Jones, 5-1-114-28-50. From this there is a drop to 19"75. G. and B . Challenor are brothers of Capt. E . L. Challenor, of the Leicestershire Begiment, who has played cricket in m any climes. C. Allan Browne is elder brother of C. B. Browne, the Clapham Bamblers’ crack bowler. Batson has com e to the front quite recently; bat Tarilton is an older hand. A portrait and biography of this last- named player will appear in our next issue. S. W orm e (42 wickets at 13-42 each), G. Challenor (34 at 14-70), F. E. W . G. Austin (33 at 14 45), W . Gibbs (29 at 15'72), and K. Mason (26 at 16-03) were the leading bowlers of the island last season. A ll have played in inter colonial cricket. * Barbados Cricketers' An nual fo r 1911-12, edited and com piled by J. Wynfred Gibbons.
