N o one. Hirst reached the thousand fifteen times during the two decades, with 13 four-figure totals in succession, Denton 12 times, Tunnicliffe 11, Rhodes 7, Brown 6, the Hon. F. S. Jackson 4, F. Mitchell, Wainwright, and Wilkinson twice each, Booth, Drake, Peel, T. L. Taylor, and Wilkinson once each. Of the 25 instances of 100 wickets in a season Hirst and Rhodes each claim as many as 10, while Haigh has 3, and Peel and Newstead have one each. Rhodes had eight in succession. In Yorkshire’s 515 matches during the 20 seasons 95 players represented the county. Of these 38 played in only one, two, three, or four matches each, 20 in 5 or more but under 50 matches, and the following 28 in 50 or more :— Denton, Haigh, and Hirst in 400 or over ; Lord Hawke, Hunter, Rhodes, and Tunnicliffe in 300, but under 400 ; Brown (J. T., sen.) and Wainwright (E.) in 200, but undor 300 ; the Hon. F. S. Jackson and Myers in 150, but under 200 ; Moorhouse (R.), Rothery, E. Smith, Wilkinson (W. H.), and Wilson (B. B.) in 100, but under 150 ; Bates, Booth, Dclphin, Drake, Newstead, and Peel in 75, but under 100 ; F. W. Milligan, F. Mitchell, Mounsey, E. J. RadclifTe, T. L. Taylor, and Whitehead (Lees) in 50, but under 75. Of those Hirst, Lord Hawke, Hunter, Tunnicliffe, Brown (J. T., sen.), Wainwright (E.), the Hon. F. S. Jackson, Moorhouse (R .), E. Smith, Peel, Mounsey, and Whitehead (Lees) had all played before 1893. But only one of these twelve is still in harness—George Hirst, to wit. His figures in County Championship matches prior to 1893 (which may be added to those given below for the purpose of getting at his complete record) were :— 10 matches (bowling in all): 14 innings, 3 not outs, 100 runs ; 1,220 balls, 429 runs, 19 wickets.
