Notts, and W illiam Lambert, nearly 100 years ago, for Sussex (with Lam bert and Mr. G. Osbaldeston) v. Epsom . It has also been done several times in inter-State matches in Australia. T h e b e have been ten instances this season, and the feat in the annals o f first-class cricket. It was remarkable that the record set up by Strudwick eight years ago should have been established in his first year as a m ember o f the Surrey E leven. M a u B ry a n , who has been tried just recently for Somerset, was captain o f the E xeter S chool E leven at the early age o f fifteen. H e is the second Old E xonian to play for the county, the other being Mr. H . Martyn. C a p t.
