Lord Jam es of Hereford, who died suddenly at Coombe Warren House, near Epsom , on the 18th inst., was born at Hereford on Octo­ ber 30th, 1828, and was educated at Cheltenham College, on the roll of which he was the first boy entered. He was captain of the Eleven in 1844 and 1845, among his contemporaries being Mathew Kempson, the famous bowler of other days. For some years he was a member of the Surrey County C .C ., and joined the M .C.C. in 1860. In 1889 he was, as the R t. Hon. Sir H enry Jam es, Q .C., President of the latter club. He was raised to tbe Peerage in 1895 and was probably the only lawyer who refused the Lord Chancellorship. M r. W. H . LUNNON. M r. W . H. Lunnon, who died at Bourne En d on the 18th inst., was for some years a member of the Buckingham shire team , being a useful batsman and a serviceable fast bowler. H is best season was 18 9 1, when he had a batting average of 15*60 and took nine wickets for eleven runs each. BLU E MANTLES v.
