Cricket 1911

234 CRICKET : A WEEKLY EECOED OF THE GAME. J une 10, 1911. M IDDLESEX v. SUSSEX . Played at Lord’s on June 5, 6 and 7. r a w lin ’s b e n e f it . Middlesex won by seven wickets. On a good wicket on Monday Sussex were put out for 233, not withstanding a second wicket stand of 102 by the younger Relf and Killick. That total Middlesex exceeded by 81, owing largely to a not-out innings of 134 by Hendren who added118 withWormald and 74 with Hearne (J. T.). He might havebeencaught when 79, but made no othermistake. Sussexmade 252 in their second innings, Vine and Relf (A. E .) putting on 118 for the third wicket and Middlesex were left with 172 to win. An opening partnership of 98 by Warner and Tarrant practically settled matters, and the remaining runs were made for the loss of two more men. Score and analysis:— First innings. S ussex . WORCESTERSH IRE v. W ARW ICK SH IRE . Played at Worcester on Ju n e 5, 6 and 7. Worcestershire won by 1 16 runs. Thanks chiefly to an innings of 66 by Turner which lasted 15 5 m inutes, Worcestershire made 201 in their first innings, a total which W arwickshire just exceeded. B aker and Parsons were the only bats men to do much. The home side, thanks to Pearson, who was m issed when 25, did better when they went in again. The player named hit nineteen 4’s during the 260 minutes he was in, and W arwickshire had 300 to make to win, a task which never appeared likely to be accomplished.
