KENT . Played at Southampton on Ju n e 5, 6 and 7. TWO SEPARATE HUNDREDS BY HARDINGE. Drawn. As m any as 5 2 1 runs were made in this match on M onday, Kent scoring 416 in four hours and a-half and then getting six Hampshire wickets down for 105. Hardinge and Humphreys made 96 for the opening partnership, and the former and Woolley 15 5 for the fourth in 85 m inutes. Woolley hit twelve 4’s in his faultless innings, and Hardinge, who made 175 out of 388 in 255 minutes without a m istake, a 5 and 20 fours. Hampshire were dismissed for 208, only Bowell and Sprot doing much, and Kent went in again in preference to enforcing the follow-on. H ardinge, in making his second hundred in the match, was missed when 37, and hit fifteen 4’s. He added 69 for the third wicket with Hutchings, 87 for the fourth with Woolley and 100 for the fifth with Day in 40 m inutes. The last-named scored 100 in 55 minutes, and hit a 6 and sixteen 4’s. He gave no chance. Having made 359 for five wickets in 195 minutes Kent declared, leaving Hampshire with 568 to win. Bowell and F ry made 129 for the first wicket, the latter scoring 104 in 165 m inutes without a mistake. Mead batted well for 73, and Rem nant, by scoring 1 1 5 not out, saved the game for his side.
