Denham of Huddersfield, forwards the following extract from the London Globe of September 15th, 1810 :— “ The return match between the Harewood and Wetherby clubs was played on Clifford Moor, York­ shire, yesterday se’nnight,and won by the former in great style. The following is a correct account of the innings:— Wetherby. Harewood. First innings ...... 87 runs ... 109 runs Second innings ... 42 runs ... 21 runs 129 runs ... Only 1 wicket down. By the result of this match the Harewood evidently possesses a decided superiority over the Wetherby, and in consequence must rank as a first-rate country cricket clu b : the Wetherby having not only challenged and played the whole county last year, but having also on this occasion the powerful assistance of Mr. Osbaldeston, a member of their club ever since that match.” “ Indeed, we understand two of the first players from the Marylebone Club who witnessed the match on Friday declared that the fielding of the Harewood would have done credit even to the Lord’s ground.” “ On Saturday play was resumed in Harewood Park, where Lambert and Budd, from the Marylebone Club, showed their well- known skill in this manly game.” G E O R G E A Y E R Y & S O N , Cricket Ball Manufacturers, 9 & 1 1 , C harles Street, SO UTH BO RO UGH , K E N T .
