Johnson and Spick provided the latter and the W innipeg men the rest in large chunks. It looked like an overw helm ing defeat. But the Alberta innings was not a very im pressive spectacle either, and w hen the strangers were out for 76 there looked like a chance of victory to that old tactician R. O. White. The W innipeg m en played like them selves at the second venture. For the Albertans’ last attem pt Horrobin bowled w ith deadly precision, and not only took seven w ickets for 14 runs, but accom plished the rare, dearly-sought, always sen sational hat trick. The first tim e in a successful and lengthy career of cricket. The fielding on neither side was good, but the W innipeg m en were better towards the end.” M ANITOBA v.
