During the present season Harrow have beaten the Free Foresters, Household Bri gade, M.C.C., Harlequins and Quidnuncs and have lost to Mr. M. C. Kemp’s XI. : the fixture with I Zingari was scratched owing to rain, and drawn match4s were played with the Authentics and Old Harrovians. On the other hand Eton have defeated the Eton Ramb’ers, have been beaten by the Authentics, Butterflies aud Free Foresters, and have played drawn games with Liverpool, New College (Oxford) and Winchester. For to-morrow’s match at Lord’s Harrow will have seven old colours in the team: Eton only tw o- Fowler and Lubbock. Eton’s chief strength is in bowling and Harrow’s in batting and fielding, though as many as eight members of the latter side can bowl. This year’s game should pro luce some capital cricket. The followiug report, by au American press man, appeared in the Sunday Advertiser of June 5th:— CHINESE PLAY STAR GAMEJF CRICKET Honolulu Club Outpoints Bishop & Co Team by Twenty- Two Runs. The Oriental contingent of Bishop & Co.’s team displayed real British skill at cricket in the game with the Honolulu Club at Makiki field yesterday afternoon. Kau went up in the air after a fly, making a sensational single left handed catch which was the spectacular feature of the game, while En Yate hit out with Celestial vigor. C. P. Morse smote lustily, running up a score of twenty-two for the Honolulu Club while A. Baird totaled nine, which was the best individual record made by the Bishop chaps. The club cricketers doubled the Bishop eleven’s score, putting it over them 44 to 22, a 22 run skidoo for the last year champions. There were only three matches played last year. The Bishops defeated the Honolulu Club and Davies & Co. beat the Bishops. The club players then went over to Maui and played a game at Kahului. Both sides showed lack of practice yesterday. Bob Anderson, however, gave evidence that he may keep the scorers hustling later in the season. The fielding all round showed room for improvement.
