Played at Palmerston North on March 16 and 17. Australia won by an innings and 104 runs. Manawatu, after losing six wickets for 20 runs and seven for 33, did well to make 87. For their total they were indebted largely to Cobbe, who scored 32 and added 31 in partnership with Holland.
