The report of the Committee of the Devon County Cricket Club states that in the Western Division of the M inor Counties Competition Devon had a fairly successful season, playing eight matches, winning five, losing two (one only on the first innings), and drawing one. The system of grouping for the Competition of 1910 has been altered. Instead of four divisions there w ill be only two, north and south. Each county has to play at least five counties in its division, the top county in each division playing the final. Under this arrangement Devon w ill play Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Cornwall, Dorset, and Surrey 2nd XI. The ground- staff w ill consist of Lig h t and Preedy from Glamorgan. It is proposed to give Ligh t a benefit during the season. Owing to the unfavour able weather during the last season the gate receipts show a falling off as compared with last year. The credit balance, owing to the fact that the upkeep of the ground cost less than usual, shows a good increase. “ O V A L B A R E I D ’ S O V A L . W H I T E .
