H is first appearance in a representative match was for Canterbury against Wellington at Wellington in 1886-7, when he and Dunlop, bowling unchanged throughout, dismissed Wellington for 66 and 34 and won the game for their side by 110 runs. Dunlop took ten wickets for 36 runs and Hailey, who at one period bowled 50 balls for one run and five wickets, nine for 52. H ailey never did quite so weli again in a match of such importance, although he took six wickets for 50 runs for X V III of Canterbury against Shrewsbury’ s Team at Hagley Park in March, 1888. He was a left- hand medium-paced bowler and a fair bat. DORSET v. BUCKS. Played at Poole Park on August 16 and 17 and drawn owing to rain. Score and analysis:— D o r s e t. Rcv.W. H.
