Appended are the scores of the two first games played for the Barbados Challenge Cup for the season 1909-10. Previously all the local cricket had been crowded into a half Saturday for each match, and consequently the players either slogged or stone-walled, according to the turns the game might take, in order to avoid defeat. It has now been decided to play double-innings matches and to continue the games from week to week for three Saturdays. G. Challenor’s 1S7 for the Wanderers is the highest local innings ever hit, just exceeding Goodman’s 180 made against the British Guiana XI. in January last. C. R. Browne (117) is a younger brother of C. A. Browne (76), and both represented Barbados in the recent inter-colonial games. SPARTAN v. WANDERERS.
