CRICKET : A WEEKLY RECORD OF THE GAME. J u l y 2 2 , 1 9 0 9 . has not shown his best form, save perhaps in the match with the West of Scotland at Glasgow, where he scored 115 out of 201 in two hours aud a-quarter without a mistake. He has several times been dismissed by means of a brilliant catch before he has had time to settle down. But his luck is bound to change before long, and then, if he makes a succession of loDg scores, those who witness his displays will be fortunate indeed, for he is a rapid ruu- getter aud a free hitter who possesses a gr^at number of strokes in his repertoire. At slip he is most brilliant, having, perhaps, no superior in the world in that position at the present time. LONDON SCOTTISH v. PINNER. — Played at Brondesbury on July 10. F.
