(Continued from page /*.) M emokabilia . Middlesex v. Somerset, at Lord’s, June 8th, 9th, and 10th.—During the Middlesex innings B. J. T. Bosanquet (135) and L. J. Moon (135) at one period of their partner ship put on 103 runs in three-quarters of an hour. In the same innings C. C. Page (164 not out) and E. S. Litteljohn (57) added 149 for the sixth wicket in 55 minutes and the former andMignon, E. (34) 93 for the last in 40. Page made 164 out of 262 in 110 minutes without losing his wicket. Middlesex, despite an interruption through rain of 20 minutes, scored 596 runs for ten wickets in 325 minutes on the second day—the great est number of runs obtained in a first-class match at Lord’s in the course of a day. Iu the second innings of Somerset J. H. Hunt sent down ten consecutive maiden overs. Yorkshire v. Lancashire, at Sheffield, June 8th, 9th, and 10th.—In the first inn ings of Yorkshire Haigh (S.) had the first finger of his bowling hand broken by a ball bowled by W. Brearley. Northamptonshire v. Leicestershire, at Northampton, June 8th, 9th, and 10th.— In the second innings of the home side C. J. T. Pool scored 63 out of 93 in 65 minutes. Nottinghamshire v. Surrey, at Notting ham, June 8th, 9th, and 10th.—In the innings of Surrey Gunn (J.), in endeavour ing to catch Strudwick (EL), sustained a compound fracture of the right thumb. He did not play again until July 23rd. Middlesex v. Sussex, at Lord’s, June 11th, 12th, and 13th.—In the second innings of Sussex Killick, E. H. (101 not out), when he had made 22, received from Hendren (D.) a ball which went off his body on to the wicket without disturbing a bail. Nottinghamshire v. Essex, at Nottingham, June 11th and 12th.—On the second day Wass (T.) obtained sixteen wickets for 103 runs (eight for 29 and eight for 74). In the first innings he at one period took six in three overs for 9 runs and in the second five in 50 balls for 16 runs. Lancashire v. Kent, at Manchester, June 11th and 12th.—In the first over of the match Blomley (B.), whilst keeping wicket, injured the second finger of his right hand in taking a ball from W. Brearley. He remained at his post for an hour when E. W. Dillon, who, was batting, noticing he was injured, drew the attention of the Lanca shire captain to the matter. Blomley then retired from the game aud, after the fall of a few wickets during which A. H. Hornby occupied the position, Phillips (W ) was taken into the match as wicket-keeper in Blomley’s place. Somerset v. Gloucestershire, at Bath, June 11th, 12th, and 13th.—In the first innings of the latter G. L. Jessop made 143 out of 179 in an hour and a-half, hitting a 6 and twenty-four 4’s and scoring off 53 of the 104 balls he received. In his second innings he made 133 not out out of 175 in similar time, making twenty-five 4’s, and again receiving 104 balls and scoring off 53 of them: he reached 50 out of 63 in 37 minutes and 103 out of 130 in 65 and at one period, whilst in with Ohas. Barnett, made 39off the reel. Cambridge University v. G. J. Y. Weigall’s XI., at Cambridge, June 11th, 12th, and 13th.—Of the first 105 runs made by the University on the second morning of the match J. N. Buchanan scored 85. Oxford University v. Worcestershire, at Oxford, June 11th, 12th, and 13th.—In the first innings of the County G. H. Simpson- Hayward made 105 out of 140 in 80 minutes: sixth in, he nevertheless scored 104 not out before the luncheon interval on the first day. Lancashire v. Surrey, at Manchester, June 15th and 16th.—Crabtree (H.) made his first appearance for Lancashire since 1902. Kent v. Gloucestershire, at Tonbridge, June 15th and 16th.—Playing for the former Seymour, Jas. (66), made 50 out of 74 in 55 minutes. Sussex v. Essex, at Horsham, June 15th, 16th, and 17th.—The start of play on the first day was delayed 25 minutes as i t was not certain whether one of the players invited to play for Sussex would do so ! Relf (R. R.) scored 54 out of 81 in 80 min utes, reaching 40 out of 50 in 55. Whilst he and Killick (E. H.) were batting a lady walked calmly across the playing pitch to the pavilion. Somerset v. Hampshire, at Bath, June 15th, 16th, and 17th.—V. T. Hill reappeared for Somerset after an absence of six years. Leicestershire v. Sussex, at Leicester, June 18th and 19th.—In the first innings of Sussex C. L. A. Smith drove a ball over the pavilion, smashing the dining-room window of a villa whilst the residents were at lunch. At one period of the first innings of Leicester shire Relf (A. E.) sent down twelve consecu tive maiden overs. C. J. B. Wood batted 40 minutes ere obtaining his first run. Surrey v. Cambridge University, at the Oval, June 18th, 19th, and 20th.—All the first 22 runs scored by Surrey were obtained by Ducat (A.). Kent v. Essex, at Tonbridge, June 18th, 19th, and 20th.—In the first innings of Kent Woolley, F. E. (81), reached his 50 out of 73 in 70 minutes. Gloucestershire v. Somerset, at Gloucester, June 22nd and 23rd.—In the first innings of the home side Parker (C.) scored 51 not out out of 73 in three-quarters of an hour, and in the second innings G. L. Jessop made 22 (five 4’s and a 2) off an over delivered by Lewis (A. E.). Kent v. Northamptonshire, at Gravesend, June 22nd, 23rd, and 24th.—On the first day of the match Kent made their last 344 runs in 200 minutes, Woolley, F. E. (152) and K. L. Hutchings (132) adding 296 for the fourth wicket in 160 minutes : they took the score from 200 to 300 in 45 minutes and from 300 to 400 in 50. Surrey v. Worcestershire, at the Oval, June 22nd, 23rd, and 24th.—In the second innings of Surrey Hayward, T. (69), made 51 out of 70 in 40 minutes. Sussex v. Cambridge University, at Brighton, June 22nd, 23rd, and 24th. In the first innings of Sussex C. B. Fry (67) and Killick, E. H. (60), took the score from 50 to 100 in 20 minutes : two consecutivo overs from the Marine end yielded 29 runs, 19 being made off E. Oliver and 10 off the Hon. C. F. Lyttelton. Lancashire v. Somerset, at Liverpool, June 25th and 26th.—Whilst batting in the second inn/ngs of the home side Tyldesley (J. T.) had the third finger of his right hand broken by a ball bowled by J. Maxwell. He did not play again until July 20th. Essex v. Middlesex, at Leyton, June 25th, 26th, and 27th. —In the second innings of Middlesex B. J. T. Bosanquet made 54 not out out of 78 in 40 minutes.
