LORD DUDLEY ON CRICKET. Holloway, Carlisle, and Narayan each bowled one wdde. Lord Dudley, the Govenor-General of Australia, organised a few matches at Adelaide and in these he figured with some little success. Sir Edwin Smith, at luncheon on one of these occasions, proposed the health of Lord Dudley, who in response said that he had while in South Australia gathered together many pleasent reminiscences, but it was not too much to say that few would be more constant in bis mind than his cricket­ ing experiences. He had made many friends among the cricketers, whose friendship he would always value, and whom he would often like to meet again while in Australia. (Cheers). The chairman had said that it was a unique occasion in South Australia, as it was the first time a Governer-General had taken the field at the Adelaide Oval. He
