CR ICK ET A W EEKLY RECORD OF THE GAME. J u l y 30, 19 0 8 . T H E P H I L A D E L P H I A N S . 7 t h M a t c h .— v. N O R T IIA N T S . Played at Northampton on July 27 and 28. N ortlants won by five wickets. By the courtesy of the visiting side the County played several men not fully qualified. The Philadephians lost King to the first ball sent down, Wood at 10, Adams at 12, and Lester at 17. Bohlen and White added 67 in 70 minutep, the former batting an hour and a-half for 38 and the latter 100 minutes for 41. At the end of the innings Sayen and Jordan put on 34, but the total reached only 166 as the result of two hours and three-quarters’ play. The County fared little better, and by the end of the day had six wickets down for 125. Thompson batted 80 minutes for 32, and in partnership with Smith added 50 in 40 minutes. On Tuesday, thanks chiefly to the fine all-round cricket by Smith, the County won by five wickets. Score and an alysis:— G entlemen of P h ila d e lph ia . J . B. King, c Thompson, b Smith Hawkins A.
