The close of the innings then appeared to be in sight, but Raynor and Gilbert m et w ith surprising success and actually added 129 for the hist w icket in tw o m inutes under the hour. Gilbert, w ho was m issed w hen 50, made 75 of the num ber, and carried out his bat. The total thus reached 210, Napier taking six of the w ickets for 78 runs. The Free Foresters lost Kemp at 46 and Sheppard at 52, but Druce rem ained w ith Raphael w hilst 85 were put 011 for the third wicket.
