The Philadelphians won by an innings and 143 runs. The Military appeared quite unable to make any stand against the bowling of Hordern, the ex-Australian, and Baily, and were handsomely thrashed. K ing’ s large score was the result, so it was stated, of “ the most brilliant play ever witnessed in Bermuda.” Score and analysis :—■ G a rriso n XV. First innings. Major T. BURMUDA. Played on March 2nd and 4th. ALL TEN WICKETS IN AN INNINGS. Bermuda won by 47 runs. The honours of this match were clearly carried off by Gilbert and Conyers. In the first innings of Bermuda the latter, batting nearly three hours and hitting ten 4’ s, scored 71 whilst all the other members of the side made only 37 between them. Gilbert, as in the Hamilton match, again proved very destructive, and in the second innings of the Philadelphians took all ten wickets at a cost of only 17 runs. It will be seen that six players failed to score in the visitors’ first innings, and that Heasman, O’ Neill, and Dornan obtained spectacles. Score and analysis:— B erm u d a . First innings. J. R.
