Kegan Paul, Trench, Triibner and Co., Ltd., have pub lished a dozen humorous cricket sketches, each 10J inches by 15 inclusive of margin, in colour, which are well worth framing and placing in a cricket pavilion. Even one wholly ignorant of the game could not fail to be amused by the antics of the quaint middle- aged and elderly gentlemen in high hats. Perhaps the most amusing of the series is the last— “ Law 13.— "When [in the opinion of the Umpire] 6ix balls have been bowled he shall call 1 Over.’ ” But they are all good, and are bound to cause much merriment at the expense of the game as played in the pre-pads and -gloves days. The artist, Mr. Charles Crombie, has done his work admirably. ♦The Laws of Cricket. London: Kegan Paul, Trench, Trubner & Co., Ltd., Dryden House, Gerrard Street, W. 5s. net, post free 5s. 6d. J. C.
