A u g . 1, 1907. CRICKET : A WEEKLY RECORD OF THE GAME. 311 next hour Warwickshire made 53 for the loss of Kinneir’s wicket. On the third morning Fishwick carried his bat through the innings for 85, hitting four 4’s and offering two chances. Lancashire, left 149 to win, lost Hornby with only a single scored, but Tyldesley, by helping MacLaren to add 90 for the second wicket, practically put the result beyond doubt. Poidevin made only 11, but Sharp managed to stay with Tyldesley to the end, when Lancashire had pulled off the game by seven wickets. Tyldesley hit nine 4’s and made no mistake during the two hours he was in. Score and analysis:— W arw ickshire. First innings. Second innings. T. S. Gloucestershire won by an innings and 24 runs. No play was possible on Thursday until half-past live, and in the short time available the home side lost three wickets for 32. On the following morning, on a wicket to suit him. Dennett proved destructive, and in the innings of 81 took seven wickets for 51. The feature of the Gloucestershire innings was the batting of Langdon, who, going in first, scored 92 in two hours and five minutes, being sixth out at 178: he gave one chance—when 62, and hit sixteen 4’s. The tail collapsed against Thompson, the innings closing for 221. Going in against a lead of 140, Northamptonshire scored 9 for the loss of Wells’ wicket by the end of the day. On the third morning Pool batted an hour for 24, and Kingston played a good game, adding 24 for the eighth wicket with Vials and 29 for the ninth with Buswell. Dennett again did well with the ball, and in the whole match took fifteen wickets for 97runs. Score and analysis: N ortham ptonshire. First innings. Second innings. E. M.
