Cricket 1907
190 CRICKET : A WEEKLY RECORD OF THE GAME. J une 6, 1907. CRICKET FACTS and FIGURES.* Mr. J. Birch has compiled, and Mr. Henry J. Drane has just published, a book of statistics entitled “ Cricket Facts and Figures.” The author presents his facts in a very clear and concise form, and, although many of the tables he gives naturally possess a familiar look, much of the information he sets forth reveals some striking and compara tively unknown facts. “ Who,” asks Mr. Birch, “ has realised that the three Yorkshire stalwarts, Haigh, Hirst, and Rhodes, have scored 25 per cent, of the runs, and captured 68 per cent, of the wickets for the Northern county? Again, Mr. J. F. Byrne, of War wickshire, has accounted for 50 out of the 55 wickets taken by the amateurs of the Midland county [1897-1906].” The tables given deal with practically every phase of first - class cricket. * Cricket Facts and Figures.
