It is curious that the highest total of the year, which was 67 more than the next largest, shouldhave been made for the loss of only four wickets. Two of thethree greatest aggregates of the season were made on the run-getting wicket at Worcester. The largest aggregate recordedat Brighton was 986 for 38 wickets in the Sussex v. Cambridge University match. This is the first time since 1892 that a seasonhas passed without a four-figure total being recorded at Hove. The aggregate of 1,425 for 16 wickets in thematchbetweenWorcestershireandLeices tershire, at Worcester, has been exceeded only twice in the whole history of first-class cricket inEngland. Only threematches wereplayed duringthe seasonat Scarborough, but each yielded over 1,100 runs:— Yorkshire v. M.C.C. & Ground... 1,157 for 33 wickets The North v.
