Cricket 1906

286 CRICKET: A WEEKLY RECORD OF THE GAME. J uly 19, 1906. On the second day Phillips kept wicket for Martyn, who had contracted a chill. Somerset gave a most disappointing display and were disposed of twice in three hours and forty minutes for an aggregate of 230, Huddleston taking ten wickets for 92. It Avas a very poor performance on the part of the visitors, and calls for no detailed description. In Somerset’s second innings Woods was out to a curious catch, the ball going off the wicket-keeper’s glove through first slip’s right hand into second slip’s hand. Lancashire won by an innings and 143 runs. Score and analysis:— L ancashire . R. H. Spooner, b Lewis 16 A. F. Spooner, b Lewis 16 Tyldesley,c Phillips, b Braund .................16 L. O. S.
