Cricket 1906

M at 10, 1506. CftiCKET: A WEEKLY RECORD OF THE GAME. 119 to his doings for Yorkshire whom he assisted from 1861 to 1870. In 1861 he took 10 wickets at cheap cost against Surrey at Sheffield, but his best all-round performance was in the same fixture at the Oval in 1868 when he made 44, his top score for the County, and in the second inniDgs took 6 wickets for 19 runs. So far as batting goes, probably his best effort was against Nottinghamshire in 1865 when he took his bat through the second innings for 30 out of 70 from the bat. For many years he was coach at Eossall School. How he was valued there was well shown in a letter to the Yorkshire Post, from the pen of Mr. T. A. Higson, a well-known old Ros- sallian, during the present week. He was buried in the Bowling Cemetery, at Bradford, on Monday last. J. B. P a y n k . WANDERERS v. ST.
