As in the Notts Colts match the weather was so m iserably cold that the merits o f young players could hardly be tested. Swain for the Fifteen played a steady innings for a couple of hours, and C. J. B . W ood and K night showed that their winter rest has done them no harm . K night was not out 37 when stumps were drawn on Monday with the total at 122 for five wickets. Three men were run out when the Eleven resumed their innings on Tuesday, and the total was 18 behind that made o f the Fifteen.
