Played on matting at Kingstown, St. Vin cent, on March 14, 15 and 16. Drawn. The team arrived at Kingstown in the early morning onMarch 14th, and play began at four o’clock, after heavy rain. When stumps were drawn the Englishmen had made 60 for the loss of three wickets. On the next morning rain again fell and there was no play until lunch. Hayes played a fine game but could get no one to stay with him ; he was last man out. St. Vincent lost two wickets for 30 runs before the day’s play ended. On the third day the two Ollivierres played wonderfully good cricket, and Layne also played well. The result was that St. Vincent were able to declare with nine wickets down, although there was no time to get the Englishmen out. L ord B racklet ’ s XI. First innings. Second innings. Played on the Wanderers’ Ground, Johannes burg, on March 2 and 3. Mr. Bailey’s Team won by nine wickets. The Army, captained by Major It. M. Poore, succeeded in getting together a strong team, while Mr. Bailey played five members of the South African team which went to England last year, two others who play for the Transvaal team, while Messrs. Bailey, Gordon Beves, and Allsop are old exponents of the game. The Army batted first and ran up a total of 150. There were no big scores, but most of the team were a little puzzled with the light. Mr. Bailey’s team made a most disappointing display in only getting 109, but (Japt. Sykes was responsi ble for this downfall by bowling extremely well, andtaking eight wickets for 40 runs, and ended up by performing the hat trick. Tancred was the only player to offer any resistance; his innings of 65 was faultless and full of dash. The Army commenced their second innings with a lead of 41, and ran np a total of 197. Watson played a fine innings of 66 before running himself out. Tancred was the most successful bowler, capturing three wickets for 4 runs. Mr. Bailey’s team went in to get 239 to win, and
