At the end of the first day’s play the Warwick shire score stood at 95 for four wickets, against 260 by Cambridge. Fishwick was not out 29, and Loveitt not out 21. On Friday Fishwick brought his total to 137, his partnership with Baker pro ducing 122 runs in an hour and three quarters; he was batting for three hours and a half and hit fifteen 4’s. Cambridge had to go in against a balance of 46, and made 150 for two wickets before stumps were drawn, Mann, for the second time in the match, playing a very fine innings. He was not out 77. Colbeck, who, it will be remembered, played so well against the Australians, was not out 39. On Saturday it rained hard in the morning, and there was no play until about three o’clock. Mann played a very fine innings, and was batting for three hours and a quarter. Cambridge declared, leaving Warwickshire to make 209 in two hours and twenty minutes.
