Cricket 1905
190 CRICKET: A WEEKLY RECORD OF THE GAME. J u n e 8, 1905. ESSEX t . DUBLIN UNIVERSITY. Played at Dublin, ia College Park, on ' Jane 5, 6 and 7. Essex won by nine wickets. Against the bowling of Tremlin and Douglas the University could do very little on Monday. For Essex Fane played fine cricket, and McGahey and Reeves made useful scores, but Perrin again failed. When stumps were drawn, Essex had made 184 for seven wickets. On Tuesday the Essex tail increased the total by nearly a hundred, Douglas batting very well indeed for his 40. The University began well in their second innings, and when stumps were drawn they had scored 213 for eight wickets, J. T. Gwynn (57) and R. Fox-Goodman (56), both being in excel lent form. The innings soon ended yesterday, and Essex only had to make 70 to win. D ublin U n iversity . First innings. C. R. Faussett, c Carpenter, b D ouglas........................29 R. Yesterday it was possible to esume play at half-past two, but there was practi cally no chance of finishing the match. W.
